Our Story
Transfemme® was founded in 1996 by a dedicated team of individuals, including a naturopathic doctor who recognized the lack of comprehensive, high-quality options for transgender and non-binary individuals seeking to express their true selves. We were inspired by the courage and resilience of the transgender community who at the time were mainly hiding and saw an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by creating a brand that prioritizes inclusivity, authenticity, and efficacy. Back in 1996 being transgender and helping transwomen was not socially acceptable. In 2002 we invented the word Transfemme® and around 2003 we were featured on the Jay Leno show and everyone thought it was funny.
